The race was first recorded in 1923. It was revived in 2010 and since then has become a popular annual event with runners far and near. On a Sunday in June, runners can enjoy a safe off road route with the challenge of hills, the beauty of the Bromyard Downs, and the rewards of breathtaking views in every direction from the top of the course.

Herefordshire
Meadows

Harvested seed on the beautiful Bromyard Downs, a site with impressive species richness and density which provided a wonderful haul of seed. This harvest will help create new wildflower meadows in the local area.

Hay
Making

As hay is turned, tedded and dried on the Downs, wildflower seed can return to the meadow. This helps to retain or reintroduce a wider range of species. This year over 200 big bales were made.

Storm Darragh

After Storm Darragh swept across the common, volunteers sprang into action to clear fallen trees and debris. Strong winds had toppled trees, blocking pathways, causing disruption. Armed with chainsaws, gloves, rakes, and determination, their efforts ensured clear walking routes and a supply of logs to bolster our funds. Residents expressed gratitude for the swift response, and a welcome cup of tea was enjoyed at the end.
